Stand with Breast Cancer Action: Tell President Obama to ban fracking and protect public health
Fracking is a process of energy extraction that combines millions of gallons of water with tens of thousands of gallons of chemicals, including known carcinogens and endocrine disruptors, and injects this toxic mixture deep below the earth’s surface to break up rock formations and release the oil or natural gas contained within.
This practice exposes all of us to toxic chemicals linked to breast cancer as well as a host of other health harms. Fracking contaminates underground water supplies that directly threaten public health in both rural communities close to fracking sites as well as urban neighborhoods far from fracking operations. We must act now to demand that President Obama protect public health and the environment from the hazardous impacts of fracking.
