On February 7, a scientific peer review questioned the science behind the Obama administration's proposal to strip protections for gray wolves across the country. This expert review should be the final nail in the coffin of this flawed plan which would reduce protections for wolves and make it easier to kill them as they begin to recover historic habitats.
While wolves have made a remarkable rebound in the northern Rockies and western Great Lakes over the past 15 years, they are by no means recovered. The scientific peer review triggers a new 45-day comment period. We need your help with one last push in telling newly appointed Secretary of Interior Sally Jewell that this proposal is premature and that wolves in the US need comprehensive, not piecemealed, recovery.
