Updated: Oppose U.S. military action against Syria
Please call your Members of Congress, asking them to oppose U.S. military action against Syria. You can reach the Capitol switchboard toll-free using the number (855) 686-6927. Or you can send them an email.
Background: U.S. missile strikes could well lead the U.S. into an ever-deepening military conflict and will certainly cause even more suffering for the people of Syria who have already suffered so much. MCC staff in the region hear regularly from Syrians of various ethnic and religious backgrounds that they strongly oppose violence from any side, including U.S. military involvement. Read MCC’s call to end the violence.
While allegations of chemical weapons attacks are extremely serious, the U.S. and others in the international community must respond through appropriate diplomatic and legal channels, not militarily. Moreover, the need for an internationally convened peace conference to bring all involved parties to the table is more urgent than ever.
Members of Congress need to hear today that their constituents are opposed to U.S. military action in Syria, including U.S. missile strikes and sending weapons to opposition groups.
