Salmon River Wildlands Threatened By Clearcut Logging!

We don’t throw around the word “clearcut” often—it’s an emotionally charged word that describes removing all of the forest structure in a stand in order to replace a native forest with an artificial tree farm. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what the Klamath National Forest is proposing in the wild forests adjacent to the east edge of the Marble Mountains Wilderness.

Last summer, an arsonist set fire to the magnificent Salmon River Wildlands. The arsonist is now getting what they probably wanted all along, a massive proposal to “salvage” log thousands of acres of native forests on the steep erosive mountain slopes of this salmon-bearing watershed.

Please take action below and join with us to ask the Forest Service to focus on post-fire forest restoration, rather than forest exploitation in this special place.
