Thanks for signing
The United States just signed the Arms Trade Treaty! This is a huge step forward in dealing with the unregulated and illicit global trade in conventional weapons and ammunition, which fuels wars and human rights abuses worldwide.
This couldn't have happened without your support for the Arms Trade Treaty, without your emails to President Obama. Your efforts have paid off!
Now it's time to take a moment and thank President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry for their exceptional leadership. Will you send them a thank you email. Check out our email action on the right. They are going to want to hear from you, because the NRA is sure to call this a "UN gun grab", even if that is untrue.
Not only is it good for our nation to have all countries operating from the same rule book, it's also our responsibility. As the world's largest arms dealer, the US signature will put pressure on other major buyers and sellers such as Russia, China and India to join the treaty. US signature will add momentum to efforts to get at least 50 nations to join or ratify the agreement so it can go into force. So far, eighty-six other nations have signed the treaty and four have ratified it.
Take a moment to congratulate yourself and the US. Then show how excited and thankful you are by emailing President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry.
