JUFJ Maryland Community Meeting, June 2013!

In 2012,  JUFJ's Dream for Equality campaign showed that huge change is possible when the Jewish community comes together. Montgomery County Jews made it clear that we'll accept nothing less than equality for LGBTQ people and immigrants. What will our community do next?

Sunday June 2, 4-6:30pm
Temple Shalom, Chevy Chase

At community meetings, we gather to catch up on JUFJ's recent and upcoming work, and learn how to get involved. This time, we'll be voting to chose JUFJ's next Maryland campaign! Come be part of JUFJ's grassroots leadership and help choose our next project in Maryland.

What will the Jewish community take a stand on next?

  • Will we organize to preserve affordable housing in Montgomery County by ensuring that renters can expect to stay in their homes with stable rents?
  • Will we work to win paid sick days for everyone who works in the state of Maryland, so that no one has to chose between their job and their health?
  • Will we fight to raise the minimum wage for Maryland workers to ensure that all who work can make a living.

We'll provide snacks to nosh on (vegetarian/kosher). Please RSVP so that we know how much food to order. Childcare will be provided, if you want this service please email

Spread the word! Bring your friends and neighbors! If you have any questions, or are interested in helping plan, lead, and make the meeting go smoothly, email Katie Ashmore: or call 202-408-1423 x5.
