Ask Legislators to Support Teacher Collaboration

Please contact your Senators and Representative to ask support for defining professional learning in the following way: “professional learning through educator collaboration.”

Such collaboration requires protected time in the school day so that teachers can generate curricula, examine student work, share results of their own assessments of student learning, and benefit from one another’s expertise.

The following template letter makes the case for this request if you care to adopt or adapt it. Including your own experience with the benefits of collaboration will fortify your request.

Action to take:

1.    Read the template letter.
Include in the letter, if you choose, your own account of the need for protected time for collaboration.
3.    Fill out the form.
4.    Send the letter.

Thank you on behalf of teachers in your state and throughout the country.
